How many SMBs have their employees post to social media? Are these posts effective? To find out, Bredin recently surveyed 500 U.S. SMB principals.
Like SMB use of influencers, the number of SMBs that encourage employees to post on social media varies by SMB size. For instance, 59% of very small businesses (VSBs, with 1-19 employees) encourage staff to post on the company’s behalf, versus 63% of small businesses (SBs, with 20-99 employees) and 71% of midsized businesses (MBs, with 100-500 employees).
Does your company encourage your employees to post on social media to promote your company’s offerings or activities?
The effectiveness of employee social posts also varies by company headcount. 31% of VSBs rate them as very effective, versus 51% of SBs and 53% of MBs.
SMBs say employee social media posts are almost as effective as influencers: 35% of VSBs, 58% of SBs and 63% of MBs rate influencers very effective. More than 95% of each segment rate influencers somewhat or very effective.
How effective would you say your employees’ social media posts are at achieving your social media goals?
